Aiming High In Business and Life with Sylvia High

Vanessa Coppes and Sylvia High

As a seeker and woman on a mission to live an examined life, I meet a lot of wonderful people along the way. When I attended Oprah’s Life You Want Weekend (you can read about that HERE) I connected with so, so many wonderful women!

I was part of the Power Networking Breakfast Panel, hosted by Charmin where Jodi Allen (VP & General Manager at Procter & Gamble), Karen Meleta (VP at Wakefern Food Corporation), Sylvia High (Founder of AimingHigh) and Egypt Sherrod (HGTV host) discussed how women find balance, live life fully and how we each “Bring it”.

I could not turn away from Sylvia High‘s energy. Everything she said resonated with me and I knew I had to go up and say hello. I am so glad I did!

Sylvia and I have since connected frequently and I am so excited to share with you a little bit more about this woman who is ‘bringing it’ by Aiming High every day in her business and life.

Beauty is…

Beauty is the essence of a persons spirit, a powerful sense of self, an appreciation of your own attributes. As well as your own personal style and swag.

I am most proud of…

There are so many things that I am proud of, however if I could only pick one thing, it would be I am most proud of who I am, my character, my heart, my spirit, my determination, my love of humanity. My relationship with myself, husband, my family, my friends, the world.

Through my work, I hope to accomplish…

I am accomplishing transformation, thus transforming the world, altering the way people see themselves and those around them, empowering people to love who they are, embrace and be proud of their gifts and talents and do what is necessary to change the things that are standing in the way of their GREATNESS!!!!!

Your secrets for Staying Young are…

I have declared that I will live to the ripe age of 100 plus but never get old, I will age but not get old. The key is, to always be a teacher and most of all a student, to be an intentional learner, to be excited and curious and to stay humble and to know their is something to learn from everyone and every situation. I am always looking for the lesson. Keeping the attitude of possibility alive, always seeing the glass as half full. Staying present in life, scanning the environment to see what’s changing, in the world of finance , the technology world, the fashion world, the music world , the politically landscape. Connected and Present is the Key!

On living in LA and working in New York…

I have the blessing of living in two of the most amazing cities in the world. I have created a meaningful life in both places. Rich with great friends and wonderful experiences. Weather it’s a walk in Central Park or the Golden Gate Park, a Broadway play or an afternoon with my nieces and nephews, both are rich. There are challenges that come with the back and forth, suitcases, airports, different beds, being away from my husband, when these moments creep in, my ultimate choice is gratitude.
