As a business owner, determining which online marketing channel and tactic you will use is an important aspect of your marketing strategy.  Out of multiple marketing tactic options to choose from, Search Engine Optimization should be on the top of your list.

SEO is a marketing discipline. It’s focused on growing visibility in organic (which means non-paid) search engine results.

SEO improves rankings, drives traffic, and increases awareness about you or your business in search engines.

SEO is also the most important tactic in attracting visitors to your website. 

Any time someone gets online and looks for something, searching is what they’re doing.  So, it stands to reason that Search Engine Optimization is THE key – to everything!

While I’ll be the first one to tell you that you need to make sure you’re present on relevant social media outlets, understanding that not every outlet out there is for you is also key. Pay attention to where your people are and be there.

Building a strong website and providing a clear path to to get there will help search engines index your site quickly and easily. More importantly, it will provide visitors with a good experience of using your site and encourage repeat visits.

    Does buying keywords (like google ad words) count as SEO? It gets you in the "sponsored" search results at the top of the page. I haven't tried buying adwords yet but Google keeps sending me some free credits so I will be trying it out soon.

  • I do it! Although I must say i get more traffic from other places. It still helps.
