Through My Lens: Oprah’s Life You Want Tour

If you know me, you know that the day of me meeting Oprah Winfrey was bound to come. She has been on my vision board since I was 13 years old. And all I ever wanted to say to her was thank you.

But the true excitement of this weekend for me was in sharing the powerful energy that over 15,000 people came to experience. You could breath in the love. Seriously.

One of the hardest things for us humans to do is to be vulnerable. I was able to share so many powerful instances with people whom I will probably never see again, but with whom I will forever be bound to for one simple reason: connection.

You see, that’s what happened this weekend. And us ‘seekers’ -as we were called by Robert Bell- were all fully present…on the streets while we waited in line to get into O Town, while we searched for our seats, while we danced or even on “the go”. We were connected by the common thread that is energy, Source energy…which we are all made of.

I can only speak for myself but there was everything sacred present in this arena, and we all took that divinity home with us. How absolutely fabulous is that?

There are so many takeaways from this weekend:

Friday morning, I was part of the Power Networking Breakfast Panel, hosted by Charmin where Jodi Allen (VP & General Manager at Procter & Gamble), Karen Meleta (VP at Wakefern Food Corporation), Sylvia High (Founder of AimingHigh) and Egypt Sherrod (HGTV host)discussed how women (mothers) find balance, live life fully and how we each “Bring it”.

I then proceeded to roam O Town, there was so much to do…but specially some much needed dancing! Loved hearing US the Duo perform, connecting with Chrishan Wright, June Lazaro, meeting Adam Glassman (O Magazine Creative Director -who loved my hair BTW), sharing with my Dominican friends and winning Beats Headphones by Dr. Dre!

By 4pm, it was finally time to head into the Prudential Center. I was so grateful for the day already, nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to experience. I was sitting front row, center stage: W.H.A.T.?!?!?!?! I knew I had a good seat, but this was INSANE GOOD!

Day 2 was pure awe with Iyanla Vanzant, star of OWN’s hit series “Iyanla Fix My Life,” regular O Magazine contributor, best-selling author and spiritual life coach; best-selling author of Eat Pray Love, Elizabeth Gilbert; American Poet, Author and Philosopher Mark Nepo; and one of Time 100’s Most Influential people, Pastor Rob Bell.

Soul Cycle almost brought me to tears.

My “tweet-tweets”:

  • “Everything that’s happened to you has happened for you.” Oprah Winfrey

  • “Nothing is as messy and magnificent than being human.” Mark Nepo

  • “It’s better to live your own destiny imperfectly than to live an imitation of somebody else’s life with perfection.” Quoted by Elizabeth Gilbert

  • “Everything is a miracle, isn’t it?” Rob Bell
  • “Life speaks in simple sentences. Yes. No. Stop. Go.” Iyanla Vansant

I cannot use one word to describe how incredible this weekend was for me. I pray that these new blessings I’ve received find their way. Lord knows I thought I was listening before, now I KNOW exactly what #TheLifeIWant looks like.

Thank you Oprah Winfrey for always shining your light so brightly that it helps others find the courage to fully shine theirs and stand in the greatness that we all are.

Thank you to my husband and boys for giving me the gift of joy 🙂
